About this spot
Mornington beach is a fine sand beach backed by sand dunes, located between the Boyne estuary to the north and Bettystown to the south. Access to the beach is provided by boardwalks to help protect the integrity of the dunes which are of conservation value and which form part of the Boyne Coast and Estuary Special Area of Conservation ( SAC site code 001957 ). The Boyne Estuary is a designated Special Protected Area ( SPA site code 004080 ).
