About this spot

Renvyle (White Strand/Trá Bán) in Co Galway is a long white sandy beach facing to the north. It is a machair and dune system with marram grass on the upper shore leading down to a white sandy beach. It is accessed by a local road L1101. The beach is safe for swimming and is an extremely valuable environmental, educational, cultural & bio-diverse resource providing habitat to a wide variety of protected flora & fauna together with a wide variety of marine life & plants. The nearest town/village is Tullycross 1.5km away in a south easterly direction. Access is via the L51023-0 local road. It is over 700m long.
